Which Mice, Keyboards and Controllers Work with XIM Matrix?

XIM Matrix works with a wide range of gear, but not everything. Check this before you buy. It's a summary of XIM's official compatibility list, which changes over time, so confirm your exact model there.

Supported controllers

  • Xbox Elite 2, Xbox Series and Xbox One
  • Xbox 360 (wired XInput)
  • PlayStation DualSense, DualShock 4 and DualShock 3
  • Switch Pro and Switch Joy-Con
  • XIM NEXUS
  • DirectInput controllers (wired only)

XIM lists gyro for the DualSense, DualShock 4, Switch Pro and Joy-Con. It says most wired, officially licensed third-party Xbox controllers are also supported, but asks you to check its support forum before buying.

Controllers reported not to work

These include the Alpakka, Beitong Kunpeng 70, Gamesir G7 Pro, IFYOO GTP01, Nacon, PDP Xbox Neon, Power A Fusion Pro 3, Power A Spectra Infinity, Razer Wolverine, Scuff Instinct Pro, Victrix Gambit and Xbox Adaptive Joystick. The 8BitDo Ultimate works wired, but its gyro doesn't.

Mice

Reported non-working mice include the Attack Shark X6, Logitech G PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE, Lamzu Maya X and several Roccat, Pulsar and HyperX models. A few work only under certain conditions:

  • Roccat Kone XP Air Wireless: with buttons remapped as keyboard keys
  • Roccat Tyon: in wired mode
  • Some Pulsar models: at 125Hz
  • Zaunkoenig M2K: at 1000Hz or less

Keyboards

XIM lists reported non-working keyboards from brands including Corsair, Keychron, Ducky, Anne Pro, Logitech, SteelSeries and Mac, and says most Corsair products don't work correctly or at all. Check your exact model on the official list.

Headsets

Rules that cause most problems

  • Use the latest firmware. See our firmware guide.
  • Consoles have a connection requirement. Xbox needs an Xbox controller with its USB cable, PS4 needs a DualShock 4 with a micro-USB cable, and PS5 needs Ethernet. PC has no controller requirement. Cables aren't included.
  • Custom drivers can be a problem. USB devices that need them may not work.
  • Charging can cause faults. Some rechargeable devices may not get enough power from the XIM while charging, which can make them malfunction or shut down.
  • Some routers don't work. XIM lists ZTE network routers as not working.
